Who we are

Identity

APTO 122 is a production company and artistic research space that develops original animation and creative documentary projects, combining hybrid techniques with community processes and international co-productions.

Our identity is built through formal experimentation—especially stop motion and textile animation—and a deep commitment to historical memory, human rights, and culture as a collective practice. Each project is conceived not only as a final work, but as a process that generates learning, networks, and transformation.

Roots and expansion

APTO 122 originated in Brazil, where projects were developed focusing on political memory, women’s resistance, and textile animation as a narrative language. Later, the practice expanded to Europe, incorporating new international collaborations and broadening its scope to include rural innovation and audiovisual literacy.

This dual root —Latin American and European— allows for a solid intercultural perspective, capable of engaging in dialogue with different social and cultural contexts.

ARTAJONA LAB

ARTAJONA LAB is APTO 122’s community laboratory in Navarre. It is a space for creation, training, and production that works directly with the local area.

This center develops educational projects, community radio programs, cultural support, and professional audiovisual services. The goal is clear: to democratize access to audiovisual media and generate sustainable cultural opportunities in rural areas.
